Click Here For Printable Version How do I find a team for my son to play on? You should first consider starting your own AAU member club/team. Locate some other kids in your son’s age group and begin developing your team. This gives you the best opportunity of finding your son a place to play basketball. If you do not want to form a team, then you will have to try and find a team for your son to play on. You should first try talking to anybody who plays or has a son who plays on a basketball team so that you can get in contact with their coach. If that coach cannot accommodate you then ask if he knows of other coaches looking for players or hosting try-outs. You can always contact your local AAU Boys Basketball District Sports Director at www.aauboysbasketball.org just click LOCAL CONTACT PERSON to see if they have any leads on tryouts or coaches looking for players. You may also view your local district website and see if they have a “CLUB LISTINGS” icon, which enables you to look at the teams within your area. Please be patient when looking for a team because it can be a long process. Also, have your son ask the players on the school basketball team to see if they are on a basketball club team. If they are you can use that contact as a way to find your son a team. The next step you should consider is starting your own AAU member club.
