PREVIEW: AAU BASKETBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND AAU BASKETBALL SUPER SHOWCASE

2017-06-30

The AAU Basketball National Championships and AAU Basketball Super Showcase are set to begin in July.

ORLANDO, Fla (June 30, 2017) – Over 20,000 athletes will compete in the AAU Basketball National Championships and AAU Basketball Super Showcase throughout the month of July.

These events are for both Boys and Girls teams and will take place in ten locations across the country.

With events across the country, the AAU Basketball National Championships and AAU Basketball Super Showcase offer a true National Championship as opposed to more regionally based events.

These events attract over 2,000 teams with some of the best players from around the world. Notable past competitors include NBA Champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), as well as other NBA Champions Dwyane Wade (Chicago Bulls) and Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers).

This level of competition increases the amount of exposure at these events. The High School National Showcase is an NCAA certified event. There is expected to be over 400 college coaches in attendance.

These events will also feature a number of nationally broadcast games on WatchESPN.com (for select semifinal and championship games).

Skills Challenge events like a shooting competition will be held where players can put their individual abilities to the test.

“The AAU National Championships and Super Showcases are the pinnacle event for AAU basketball athletes,” said Boo Williams, AAU Boys Basketball National Chair.
